Since all of the videos thus far have Caroline as the star, I thought Hannah needed to have her own little video though she is not doing too much yet. She has started smiling which is so wonderful and cute and started making cooing sounds which is what she is doing in this video. She loves the bath so this is what we do if she is fussy at night and she can relax without the watchful eyes of big sister!

Summer fun!
We have been enjoying the holiday weekend with the two girls -- we spent the weekend at the beach, the pool and the park. Caroline even made an attempt to sleep on Daddy's boat one night -- made it until about 10 pm and then came home but she had a great time. Hannah is getting bigger by the day and I swear she smiled at me the other day but it could have just been gas also -- a mother's wishful thinking! Caroline started swim lessons this week and she is loving it as she has become quite the fish between swimming at the pool, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding (as evidenced by the video with the "surfboard") with Daddy she will certainly grow up to be a mermaid. Let the summer begin!

Two little girls
So we are starting to get used to saying "the girls" or "the kids" as it has been almost a month. We are surviving the lack of sleep and are loving all of our wonderful neighbors and friends that have brought us dinners and supplies so we haven't had to even think about that. And between my parents and Trent's parents visiting we have had lots of help. I even did a week by myself and survived! Hannah is quickly getting bigger and loves her tummy time and being held by mommy (surprise!). She has had three trips out on the boat already and has been to our local park more times than we can count! These are some new pictures of both kids with the grandparents.

Ten Days Old....
Hannah is officially ten days old already -- the time has flown but my sleep deprived self is telling me that is seems longer than 10 days. Actually my parents have been here and helping SO MUCH that I am really going to feel sleep deprived after they leave! Hannah is doing great -- already gained a pound and is obviously eating very well. Caroline is adjusting well also though we have had a few more temper tantrums than normal and she loves kissing on Hannah even though she has a very runny nose : ( ! She has been impressing my parents by showing off her reading skills -- I think she has every book in our house memorized and she can even imitate my voice inflections. Pretty smart cookie! These are just a couple more pictures of Hannah. Enjoy!

Baby Hannah has arrived!!
Caroline officially became a big sister on Tuesday, April 21 at 3:39 pm when baby sister Hannah Kay Von Gunten was born. She is beautiful and Mommy and Daddy and Caroline couldn't be happier. We are home from the hospital now and trying (and I say that very loosely) to try and catch up on some lost sleep. Caroline is in love and always wanting to see "Baby Hannah" and touch her and change her diaper and kiss her all over. Enjoy the pictures! (Thank you Sonia for the video idea!)

Happy Easter!!
Easter was a beautiful Sunday here and we started the day with an Easter Egg Hunt at home. Caroline loved looking for the eggs and kept asking for more! We went to church where I got sympathy seating for my 39 week pregnant belly and carrying my 2 year old (part of our plan)! Then we came home and had a little Easter egg hunt in our front yard with our neighbors -- it was very cute. Caroline did not quite get that there were things inside the eggs but the other kids did. We ended the day with dinner at Laurie and Crispin's. It was a great day!

I got the Golden Egg....!!
This past weekend we took Caroline to an Easter celebration at the local harbor. She was a little hesitant at first but then she decided that it was actually fun. She rode the little ponies (which is a huge step since she seems to be afraid of animals lately), did the sing along and participated in the Easter Egg Hunt. I wasn't sure how she would do with this concept either but I knew it wouldn't be a problem as we stood at the starting line and she kept saying, "Ready to hunt eggs, ready to hunt eggs". And ready to hunt she was. She was so excited picking up all the eggs she could find including finding the big Golden Egg that Mommy and Daddy didn't even see hidden. She was so proud of herself and apparently it showed as she got her picture featured on the front page of our local paper. What proud parents we are!! Enjoy the pictures we took and the link to the newspaper article. http://www.venturacountystar.com/news/2009/apr/05/nxxwcnpcottontail05/
