Tea anyone?

Caroline got a tea set and a kitchen for her birthday and she LOVES them!! We have regular tea parties / birthday parties every morning and she is a very good hostess. Today was baby's birthday party and I was invited so we had a nice tea time. These are a couple of pictures and a little video. Enjoy!

California baby

What can I say? Like father, like daughter.... Caroline turned two this month so the first thing Trent said was "I think she needs a wetsuit" as any California surfing father would say. So we found the smallest wetsuit we could and she absolutely loves it. We tried it on and she didn't want to take it off. Nevermind that she was completely sweating in it running around the house!! So we took her to the pool a little later and now she is sold. So let's hope Mommy can still get her to wear a cute little bathing suit every once in a while but I will have to admit that she looks pretty darn cute in the wetsuit!! Let's hope that Daddy doesn't think she will already be on a surfboard this year -- I don't know if Mommy is ready for that -- we'll just test out the ocean first!

And she can sing too...

Caroline has always loved to dance but now she has taken up singing... unfortunately for her, I think she has received my singing genes (which equals none at all) but she likes to do it anyway. This is just a little video of her singing some of her favorites.

She is also into dressing herself or telling me what to dress her in. Her favorite phrase is "Caroline do it" so you can imagine how upset she was when I told her that we couldn't wear this outfit out!

Caroline Turns Two!!

Caroline turned two this past week -- what a big milestone and a hard one for Mommy to believe that it has already been two years!! We had a little birthday party on her actual birthday with Aunt Laurie and Uncle Crispin where Caroline sang "Happy Birthday" to herself -- it was the cutest thing. And then I had a little birthday party with her friends and their mommies a few days later where we decorated cookies and sang "Happy Birthday" again. So far she has had three cakes so I think she is going to think every cake is for HER birthday!! She loved opening the presents and would say "so cute" to all the clothes and "open this" to all the toys. But I think she truly just loved the idea of presents as she continually asked for "more presents" -- how do you curb this??!!

Our last trip -- Houston bound!

Caroline and I flew to Houston, Texas to visit my cousins and aunt and uncle that live there and to meet my mom. We had a great visit as Caroline has 13 third cousins who live there so she had plenty of kids to play with. We spent a great deal of time visiting as we all don't get to see each other very often. My cousin Sandy and her little girl, Lindsey, stayed with us at my aunt and uncle's house and Caroline was in heaven as Lindsey is about a year older than her. So instead of waking up with "Mama" it was "Where's Lindsey??"!! It was a great last flight for us as I am two months from delivering and don't think that Caroline will fit on my lap on an airplane anymore!!

Where do I begin? -- Let's start with Mammoth...

My computer has been broken for over a month now and so I am finally updating the blog. The beginning of January was pretty quiet for us as we were just adjusting to getting back to California after the Christmas holidays and getting over our colds. But we never stay home for very long so when Aunt Katie and Uncle Kevin came out to visit, we took a trip to Mammoth for some skiing (for those of us that could ski) and playing in the snow for Caroline. It was pristine ski conditions with fresh snow and then daytime temperatures of 50 degrees. Laurie and I were quite jealous but at least Caroline got to get out and enjoy the snow!!
