Caroline's New Tricks & Day at the Beach

Well, I have finally figured out how to add video to my blog (thanks to the help of my sister - in - law, Tracy!). Caroline has learned another new trick that I'm not sure we are too proud of but it is funny to say the least! The videos are at the bottom of the blog page so scroll down to view them. Also a big Happy Birthday to my Mom and Katie today!!

We also made it to the beach on this beautiful Saturday with Aunt Laurie and Uncle Crispin and Crispin's parents. Caroline loved hanging out in her tent and relaxing. If only we could get her just to fall asleep at the beach....!

Day out on the water

Saturday we spent the afternoon cruising around on the Salty Dog (our boat) and Caroline was in heaven -- she even helped her Daddy drive the boat -- not bad for a 4 month old! I thought these were some cute pictures of Caroline and her daddy. She is all smiles!

Last Stop... Sunny Florida to visit the Grandparents!

Caroline and I flew from St. Louis to south Florida to meet up with Trent and visit with Trent's parents, Grandma and Grandpa Seybert. We had great Florida weather including some thunder and lightening showers which we were excited to see since we don't get those in California. We had a fantastic visit as Grandma Tammy has all the toys a baby could ask for! She loved trips to their beautiful garden with her Daddy, taking her first boat ride on the intercoastal and she also learned a few new tricks there as well including lots of loud chatting -- you would almost believe you are having a conversation with her. We worked hard on getting Caroline used to her car seat and with Grandma Tammy's patty cake and her mint box, we were able to occupy her! We were also able to meet Caroline's newest cousin, Abby -- Uncle Tye and Aunt Kelly's little two week old who was as cute as can be. The girls will have lots of fun when they get older getting together to play. We look forward to our next visit with all of them!!

Next stop... St. Louis to visit the grandparents!

Caroline and I flew from St. Louis to Boston to visit with my parents and family who were dying to meet her. Needless to say, Caroline was spoiled with her feet barely touching the ground. Though she was on the ground long enough to learn to roll from her back to her stomach. This child has stomach and back muscles we all would wish for as she throws her legs up in the air and catapults herself over to her stomach! Caroline was able to visit with Great Aunt Rita and Great Uncle Wayne (who live next door to my parents!), Great Grandma Hamilton, her Aunt Katie and all her cousins and friends that came to visit. She enjoyed her baths and her little "room" at Grandma and Grandpa's house while Mommy was able to have some rest time. We will look forward to visiting again!

Boston at last!!

Our final stop on the tour of the northeast was Boston where Ken Deckinger (another of Trent's friends from high school) was getting married. The weather was amazing and we took the time to show Caroline the sites from the Freedom Trail to a true New England lobster. She was a great baby with all the walking as she loves facing out in her Baby Bjourn and people watching! She also laughed out loud for the first time at her Daddy. Ken and Jessica's wedding was absolutely gorgeous and an amazing time was had by all. Caroline even made it to the dance floor with her Mommy and Daddy for some traditional Jewish dancing.

Heading up the coast...

After we left the New York area, we headed up the east coast to Newport, Rhode Island and Cape Cod, Massachusetts -- both amazing boating areas and beautiful scenery. We did the Cliff Walk of all the mansions in Newport and enjoyed some time at the beach in Cape Cod... so at this point, Caroline has been to 5 states and counting... and she is only 3 months! Her eyes are as clear blue as the ocean you see behind us and she has her daddy's long eyelashes -- lucky girl!

Caroline's First Vacation

Now you knew that being Trent and Heather's daughter that Caroline was not going to have her feet on solid ground for long so at 3 months we took her on her first airplane ride and vacation. Our first stop was Denville, New Jersey to visit Heather's friend Madeline Grob and her family. We attended Craig Shirey's wedding (Trent's friend from high school) in Brooklyn as well. Caroline had a little trouble adjusting to the change in the time zones and new bed but was good as gold on the plane! Here are a couple of photos of the events...
