We took a trip to Sayulita, Mexico (about an hour north of Puerto Vallarta) at the beginning of May. My sisters, their husbands, my niece and my parents joined us at a beautiful house that we rented on the hilltop. It was absolutely amazing!! The house was gorgeous and the view -- well let's just say we didn't spend much time aside from sleeping on what was the "indoors". We were a block away from a great beach with an amazing tide pool for the little ones and a block from the restaurants and shops in town. Our mornings were spent at the beach while our afternoons were spent at the pool in our yard while the kids napped. On a few evenings, we had a cook come to our house and make traditional Mexican food for us and the guys went fishing one day and brought us home dinner. Trent was in heaven as he was able to surf almost every day, Caroline could've lived at the beach and Hannah, well, Hannah was just happy to be around the water ALL THE TIME!! I was in heaven as I had lots of helping hands which was great since I was 7 months pregnant. Caroline still keeps waking up in the morning at home asking if we are going back to Mexico today. What a great vacation (kids included!!)

Oh, Mexico... when can we go back???

Riding the Rails
This past weekend, we took Caroline and Hannah on the Amtrak to Santa Barbara for Hannah's first birthday. Both loved the train and both were concerned about getting their snacks on the train! Caroline loved looking out the window as much her Daddy loved looking at the surf out of the train window! Once we got to Santa Barbara, we took the shuttle to the zoo which the kids LOVED!! I was surprised by how much Hannah liked looking at the elephants and the flamingos. It was very cute!

Hannah's First Birthday!!!
It is hard to believe that it has already been one year ago that Hannah was born. She has grown up so much and is on her way to becoming a big girl!! We had a small birthday party at our house with Aunt Laurie, Uncle Crispin and Madeline. Needless to say, my little eater loved the cake and was even trying to lick the icing as we were singing Happy Birthday!! She was all smiles!

Wow, these kids have talent....
The girls have been showing off their moves...dancing, singing, you name it!! They keep us pretty entertained (and they entertain themselves also. Don't ask where Caroline learned to do an imitation of Johnny Cash -- you can ask Trent about that. She has been quite the ham in front of the video camera. And Hannah, well she is just learning that she can hold her own!

Bye, bye baby curls!!
Well Caroline finally had her first haircut -- I know she is over 3 years old and most children have had quite a few cuts by now but I just loved those baby curls on the end and they were so cute. But, they were just getting too tangled and matted all the time so off they went. She did great in the chair and asked when she could go again! So bye, bye baby curls (hopefully Hannah will get some!)

Hoppy Easter!!
I think we may have set the record for the most Easter egg hunts for a 3 year old! Caroline participated in 5 Easter Egg Hunts this year -- it was hard for her to understand when they were finally over. This year also, Caroline finally understood that there was candy inside the eggs so during each hunt, you would find her opening the egg and looking for the goodies! Caroline was not alone in her search for candy. I found Hannah one afternoon with an open egg (I didn't know she could open them!) and shoveling M & M's in her mouth. I tried to reach my finger in and grab them out but she had her lips pursed so tight there was no way she was letting go of that chocolate! It was hilarious. The girls each wore one of my or my sister's old Easter dresses -- they looked so cute if I do say so myself!
