Visiting the Sea Center

There is a great little local Sea Center here and we took a little trip there as both Caroline and Hannah are fascinated by the fish. They were able to touch swell sharks, sea stars and all kinds of shells. They absolutely loved it as Hannah ran around yelling "Hi fishy!" the entire time and Caroline and her little friend Isabelle spent the better part of an hour grilling the docent about the sea stars and tide pool creatures. They learned a lot and had a great time!

Show me the love!

Hannah loves Andrew and Andrew loves Hannah but sometimes too much. Hannah loves to tackle Andrew who has become very good at sitting up. I think she thinks she is playing but she just bulldozes him -- poor Andrew who we have started calling "the trooper" for all of the "love" that he is given. She also loves to give him "hugs" while he is in his exersaucer. Sometimes Andrew thinks they are hilarious but sometimes you will hear loud cries. Just depends on the type of "hug" and his mood I guess. Caroline is geuninely sweet with him giving him her favorite buddies (stuffed animals) and entertaining him. It is very cute. Andrew just loves it all as he is all smiles!

Andrew's Baptism

Andrew finally had his big day with Aunt Laurie as his godmother and Uncle Tye as his godfather (Uncle Crispin stood in- thank you!). Andrew had a very personal ceremony as he was the only one being baptized that day. He was all smiles of course and didn't even flinch at having the water poured over his head. The girls were all running around of course and Caroline had strep throat but other than that, all went very well!

Happy 4th Birthday Caroline!!

Four years old already -- finally as Caroline would say as she has been waiting for her next birthday for a whole year now. She is surely going to start asking when she will turn five-- probably within the next week! She had a great day as she celebrated at preschool in the morning where they sang to the birthday kids at chapel and she told the teacher she was FOUR and not five (as the other kids birthdays were 5 year olds!) and she enjoyed making her cake with Mommy and then opening her presents. She also had an "Under the Sea" birthday party with all of her friends at our house. The weather was beautiful -- sunny and 75 degrees. We played "pin the tail on the mermaid" and had a fish pinata. We all had a great time and I think this mommy is glad that she won't be five for a whole other year!

Snow bunnies!!

We had such a beautiful January that we had to leave to search out some cold weather (sorry to everyone in those terribly cold places...!) so we went to Mammoth for the weekend. It was my first time on skis in three years since it seems like I have been pregnant forever! We had a great trip -- lots of snow but 45 degrees which is very manageable with the kids. The girls loved staying with Madeline and having an extra playmate and Caroline really loved the snow this time. Madeline and Hannah could have almost cared less but Caroline wanted to build snowmen, go sledding, make snow angels, etc. She even got to go on the mountain to try out skiing with her daddy which she loved. There are some really cute pictures of the weekend!

Peas, carrots, and peaches, oh my!

Hard to believe that Andrew is 6 months old already and onto solid foods. The time has flown by (and I'm pretty sure I don't remember most of it!). He is truly such a smiley baby and loves watching his big sisters and has such a belly laugh. We are very lucky as being the third baby in three years, he doesn't get enough of mommy's time and attention. We have been working on eating solid foods though and sometimes that smile gets in the way. I try to give him a bite and he smiles and it all falls out. Or he takes and bite and then sucks his thumb right afterwards getting the food everywhere. Oh I'm sure he will learn and will be eating with the big girls in no time. I think Hannah thinks he is already there because I keep catching her trying to sneak him Cheerios. I know he will be eating pizza long before the girls did because one of them will sneak it to him when I'm not looking!!

New Year, New House

Well we started out 2011 by moving across the street into our new house. We were very excited about the move as were the kids. You would think moving across the street would be the easiest thing but somehow it made for very busy nights moving most everything we could while the kids were sleeping. Truly, it was an easy move logistically -- just cost us a lot of sleep! But it has been wonderful. We have a backyard on the water now so we can play outside, eat outside and see the boat right from our house. We feel spoiled and are loving every minute of it! So please anyone looking to visit that wants to hang out with the three kids and enjoy the sunny weather, we would love to see you!!
