We took a trip to sunny south Florida to visit with Gaga, Papa, Uncle Tye, Aunt Kelly, Abby and baby Dean. It was a great visit. Both girls did well on the flight (thank God for DVDs!) and slept well the whole time. We had a great time hanging out on the boat, picnicking, hanging out at the beach and visiting. Trent and I even had a night away (thank you Gaga and Papa!). It was very relaxing and the girls had a great time. Caroline is asking when she can go see "mustache" (Papa) and Gaga in Florida again!!

Who would've thought???
We are having a boy!! I know this will come as a shock to those of you who don't know we are pregnant yet, but we have been quite busy lately so we haven't had a chance to contact everyone and beside that, we have only just told Caroline that she is going to be a big sister once again! I am 23 weeks pregnant, so over halfway, with this little one due on the 4th of July. Needless to say, we are going to have our hands full with Caroline who will be 3 1/2 and Hannah who will be just 14 months in July. Caroline thinks his name should be "little Kyle" after one of her little best friends out here. We will have to see about that because I'm sure we will keep the name our little secret until he arrives. That is our big news from here (as if we weren't busy enough!). I am feeling good and hope that continues for the next 4 months!! We will keep you posted.

Hannah...already 10 months old!
When I look back at my posts for this month, it looks like it was the month of Caroline...poor Hannah -- I feel like I am always saying that! I guess it is hard when you have a very busy 3 year old sister! Hannah has been very busy as well learning all of her new tricks. She can now climb the stairs and it is truly her favorite thing to do. Thank goodness we already had gates up! She stands up in her crib when she gets up from sleeping and I swear she says "mama" but I think it is just a sound though it does get quite a reaction. She crawls everywhere and likes to stand up on everything and I believe she is going to be a water baby just like her sister. She plays in the bathtub and loves it and can even blow bubbles and puts her face in willingly. We love her sweet smile and her willingness to take all she is given from her older sister. We are lucky to have such an easy going baby (so far!)

Ski bunnies
We went to Mammoth Mountain this weekend to see the snow and let the girls play in it. Well it was a little colder than Hannah liked but Caroline and her Daddy went out on the slopes to go skiing and she loved it (when she could stand up!). Hannah also had her first gondola ride and she loved it as did her sister who pretended like she was the pilot of it for the two rides that we went on! Daddy loved it because he had a whole day on the slopes. We are so lucky to live so close to it all!

Caroline the ballerina!
Caroline has been taking ballet class at the community civic center. Now realistically for a 3 year old, it is not a true ballet class but they are learning to listen to the teacher and move like animals, do somersaults and a few dance moves. For six weeks now, the parents have had to wait outside so we couldn't see what was happening so finally we were able to see what they have been up to and it was so cute! She loves it and is excited to go back again very soon!

Caroline's 3rd birthday!!
Hard to believe that 3 years have gone by already -- some days it seems like it went really fast and others, well, you know what I mean! Funny how at this age, three years old seems quite old. I remember Trent saying that during Caroline's second year that a few things would change and they have!! In the last year, Caroline gave up her binkies (last summer she threw them in the trash!), she is potty trained -- for the most part! and she is now sleeping in a big girl bed. She also became a big sister! Lots of changes from being a baby to becoming a big girl in the last year. This year, she very much knew what a birthday was and kept asking when hers was going to be so when the big day came, she was very excited!
We had an ice cream birthday party for her at the neighborhood center where we played "Pin the nose on Elmo" and "Mother, May I?". We ate ice cream and cupcakes and all the kids ran around. Of course, since they are only three, there was a little chaos and some crying but overall it turned out great!
On her actual birthday, Aunt Laurie, Uncle Crispin and Madeline came over to celebrate with Caroline's favorite -- chocolate cake with M & M's and opening presents. She received a doctor's coat and outfit which she loves since everyday, her baby or Hannah receives a doctor's appointment. Wonder if she will laugh at herself in this outfit someday or maybe it will come true, who knows??? Happy 3rd birthday, Caroline!!

More visitors!!
Grandma, Hannah and Caroline
Aunt Rita and Hannah
This one is for Uncle Wayne!
Caroline climbed a tree!
January was a busy month for visitors and at the end of the month, Grandma and Papa (clean-faced papa) and Aunt Rita and Uncle Wayne came to visit. The weather was on showcase and thankfully as our visitors were all trying to escape the cold winter weather of the midwest! We went the usual haunts.... Mrs. Olson's Coffee House, the beach, Main Street and then we also went to the wineries where we had amazing weather and then also to the Farmer's Market via boat. Caroline showed off her latest trick with her daddy... being pulled behind the boat on the paddleboard with her daddy.
It was great to see Rita and Wayne and show them around our area. They had a great visit around the rest of California as well but we like to think our spot is the best!
